I’ve lived in Weston for most of my life, and I know the issues that face people in the town because I’ve experienced them too.
Before becoming your MP, I spent over a decade campaigning to make a difference in parliament, forging relationships with senior Labour Shadow Cabinet Members, party activists, trade unions, social enterprises, businesses and educators. I delivered national projects rooted in social justice, such as tackling sexual violence, hate crime and online harassment, negotiated and secured funding for projects to advance digital skills and inclusion in technology, and shaped critical national technology legislation.
Since coming to office in July 2024, I have been working hard to make sure our town is a priority in Westminster. Due to the nature of the job, I am spending more time outside the town than I ever have before, but even while I’m based in Westminster, Weston is always my focus.
So far, I have spoken in parliament about economic growth and what this looks like for Weston. I have campaigned to improve our high street, improve our water quality, and increase our NHS dentist appointments. This is just the beginning of what I plan to do.
Following visiting Weston on a family holiday in 2000, Dan and his family moves to Weston.
